In the modern worlds is crucial that IT personal and administrators have the ability to manage
and monitor remote services.
Optitask Professional and Enterprise editions comes with built-in Windows Communication
Foundation (WCF) support that allow the Management Console (MC) to connect to remote
Optitask Service Engines. The MC can connect to the remote servers through a HTTP or TCP/IP
protocol. In order for this to work your Optitask Service Engines must be configured to accept
remote connections. For more information on configuring the service please read up on http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms732009.aspx
The file to configure the service with is called OT.ServiceHost.exe.config and resident in your
Optitask installation folder.
Once the Service is configure you can connect to the remote service with MC by selecting the
protocol to use, the server address, port and security credentials to access the server.
